Treasures of the Nile
Seven days following the Nile south — from the temple-lined streets of Luxor to the jaw-dropping cliffs of Abu Simbel. Egypt at its most extraordinary, at the pace it deserves.
✔ Safe, vetted, and personally accompanied — from arrival to departure.
THE EXPERIENCE
What this tour feels like.
You'll begin in Luxor — the greatest open-air museum on earth — where Karnak alone can stop you in your tracks for hours. Then south along the Nile, through Aswan and the serene island temple of Philae, before the journey's centrepiece: Abu Simbel at dawn. Every site experienced with a licensed Egyptologist, in a group small enough to ask questions, wander, and simply stand still.
DAY BY DAY
Your itinerary.
A suggested journey — every detail adapts to your group's interests and pace.
1
Arrival in Luxor
Private airport transfer, hotel check-in, evening at the illuminated Luxor Temple.
2
Karnak & East Bank
Full morning at Karnak — the largest religious complex ever built. Your Egyptologist takes you well beyond the tourist route into sanctuaries few visitors reach.
✦
Optional: Private Sanctuary of Sekhmet
This sanctuary is now closed to the public and accessible only to small, pre-booked private groups. For those drawn to the more mystical side of ancient Egypt, this is an extraordinary and increasingly hard-to-find experience.
3
Valley of the Kings & West Bank
Royal tombs, the towering Colossi of Memnon, and the breathtaking mortuary temple of Hatshepsut.
4
Abydos & Dendera
A day exploring two of Egypt's most remarkable temples. The sacred Temple of Seti I at Abydos, then the beautifully preserved Temple of Hathor at Dendera, renowned for its extraordinary astronomical ceiling.
5
Aswan & Philae Temple
A scenic drive south to Aswan (around 4 hours), followed by a boat crossing to the enchanting island temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Afternoon free to explore Aswan's souk, relax by the Nile, or — a lovely optional addition — visit a Nubian village nearby.
6
Abu Simbel
An early departure to the journey's centrepiece. Standing before the four colossal statues of Ramses II at dawn is one of the great travel experiences on earth. The temple of Nefertari — also dedicated to Isis — sits alongside, equally awe-inspiring.
7
Departure
Depending on your onward plans, you can fly direct from Abu Simbel to Cairo for international connections, or return to Luxor for a more leisurely final day. Either way, a private transfer is arranged to see you off.
