I'm Lyn — a British tour director who lives in Luxor. I've spent my career making sure people experience the places they visit properly. Egypt is where I do that best.
MY STORY
How Egypt found me.
I grew up in Wales, but it was Athens that shaped me. I lived there for most of my adult life — surrounded by ancient ruins, a city where history is under your feet.That is where my love of ancient civilisations started, and where I understood what it means to be genuinely inside a culture rather than merely visiting.
From Athens I spent 30 years leading tours across the world — Vietnam, Cambodia, Israel, Palestine, and all of Europe — for major operators including EF Educational Tours and Go Ahead. I know what exceptional travel looks and feels like, and I know what gets in the way of it.
Egypt was always there in the background. My father had spent time here as a soldier during the Libyan conflict and spoke of it often — urging me, year after year, to go. When I finally arrived, I understood why. Something about this place stopped me in my tracks. The scale of it. The weight of it. The extraordinary feeling of standing inside temples that have endured for four thousand years. After a life lived among the ruins of ancient Greece, Egypt felt like the next chapter of something I had already begun.
