Grand Egypt Expedition

The complete story of ancient Egypt, told properly. Two weeks moving from the Pyramids of Giza to the temples of Luxor, down the Nile to Aswan, and on to the colossal wonder of Abu Simbel — with time, at last, to take it all in.

✔ Safe, vetted, and personally accompanied — from arrival to departure.

THE EXPERIENCE

What this tour feels like.

This is Egypt in full — not the highlights, but the whole story. You'll begin in Cairo among the Pyramids and the treasures of the Grand Egyptian Museum, then fly south to Luxor, the greatest open-air museum on earth. From there, a leisurely Nile cruise carries you down to Aswan, taking in Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Philae along the way, before the journey's most dramatic moment: Abu Simbel.

Fourteen days is enough time to actually live inside this trip — to let the temples sink in, and to see the sides of Egypt that shorter tours simply cannot reach. Every site is experienced with a licensed Egyptologist at your side, in a group small enough that you can ask questions, wander, and simply stand still.

A suggested journey — every detail adapts to your group's interests and pace.

1

Arrive in Cairo

Private airport transfer and a warm meet and greet at your hotel. Settle in and rest after your flight.

2

The Grand Egyptian Museum

A full visit to the new Grand Egyptian Museum, with lunch on site. In the evening, dinner and a relaxed cruise on the Nile to mark the beginning of your journey.

3

Cairo City Tour

Explore the Citadel of Saladin and historic Old Cairo, or venture out to the ancient step pyramid complex at Saqqara — Egypt's earliest monumental stone structure.

4

Fly to Luxor

A short flight south to Luxor — the heart of ancient Thebes. Transfer to your hotel, then an unforgettable evening at the Karnak Sound and Light Show.

5

Karnak, Luxor Temple & Sekhmet

A full day exploring Karnak — the largest religious complex ever built — and Luxor Temple. For those drawn to it, a visit to the Sanctuary of Sekhmet can be arranged (private booking required). The day closes with a serene Nile sunset cruise.

6

Valley of the Kings & West Bank

Royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, the breathtaking mortuary temple of Hatshepsut, and the temple of Amenhotep III at Hapu — the West Bank in full.

7

Dendera or Esna

A choice of two remarkable temples — the beautifully preserved Temple of Hathor at Dendera, famed for its astronomical ceiling, or the Temple of Esna with its forest of intricately carved columns.

8

Luxor to Aswan — Nile Cruise begins

Board your Nile cruise ship and begin sailing south, the temples and riverbanks of Upper Egypt drifting gently past.

9

Cruising the Nile

A day of gentle cruising — time to relax on deck, watch Egyptian life unfold along the riverbanks, and simply enjoy being on the water.

10

Edfu & Kom Ombo

Two extraordinary temples in one day — the remarkably intact Temple of Horus at Edfu, and the unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to both Sobek and Horus.

11

Aswan — Philae Temple & Nubian Village

Arrival in Aswan, with a boat crossing to the enchanting island temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. A visit to a nearby Nubian village adds warmth and colour to the day — vivid houses, genuine hospitality, and a glimpse of a culture distinct from the rest of Egypt.

12

Abu Simbel

A full day dedicated to the journey's most awe-inspiring moment — the colossal temples of Ramses II and Nefertari at Abu Simbel, a true masterpiece of ancient engineering, deep in the south near the Sudanese border.

13

Fly to Cairo & free time

A flight back to Cairo, with the rest of the day free — relax at your hotel, or join an optional day trip to the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria, with its rich Greco-Roman history.

14

Departure

A private transfer to the airport for your departure — fourteen days, the full sweep of ancient Egypt, and memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
