Luxor Day Tours

Already in Luxor, or arriving for just a day? Choose from the experiences below — or tell me what calls to you and I will build your day around that. Every tour is private, guided by a licensed Egyptologist.

✔ Safe, vetted, and personally accompanied — from arrival to departure.

WHY A DAY IN LUXOR

The most extraordinary single day you can have anywhere on earth.

Luxor was ancient Thebes — capital of the most powerful empire the ancient world had ever seen. The temples here are not ruins in the conventional sense. They are entire cities of stone, so vast and so intact that a single site can absorb a full morning. Even one day, done properly, will stay with you for a lifetime. Every day tour is private — just your group, your guide, and your pace. No coach parties, no fixed schedule, no rushing. You see what you came to see, at the speed that suits you.

CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE

The day tours.

Each of these can be booked as a standalone day. They can also be combined — a morning on the East Bank and an afternoon on the West, for example — or built into something entirely bespoke around your interests.

Karnak Temple

The largest religious complex ever built — 200 acres of temples, sanctuaries, obelisks, and sacred lakes constructed over 1,500 years. A full morning here barely scratches the surface. Your Egyptologist will take you into chapels and sanctuaries most visitors walk straight past.

Valley of the Kings

The royal necropolis of ancient Egypt — where pharaohs were buried in tombs of extraordinary ambition and beauty. Over 60 tombs have been discovered. Cross the Nile by private boat, drive through the West Bank hills, and arrive in one of the world's great archaeological landscapes.

Hatshepsut Temple & Colossi of Memnon

The mortuary temple of Egypt's most powerful female pharaoh, carved directly into the golden cliff face. Vsually unlike anything else in Egypt. Combined with the towering Colossi of Memnon — two vast seated statues that have watched the Nile flood plain for 3,400 years.

Dendera — Temple of Hathor

One of Egypt's best-preserved and most beautiful temples, dedicated to the goddess Hathor. The astronomical ceiling inside — vivid with colour that has survived for 2000 years, mapping the constellations and movements of the stars in extraordinary detail. Can be combined with Abydos in a single day.

Temple Seti 1.jpg

Abydos — Temple of Seti I

One of the oldest and most sacred sites in all of ancient Egypt — where Osiris was believed to be buried, and where the Kings List is recorded. The Temple of Seti I contains some of the most exquisite wall reliefs anywhere in the ancient world, remarkably preserved in vivid colour.

Luxor Temple at Sunset

One of the most beautiful sights in Egypt — Luxor Temple as the light fades and the floodlighting comes on. The avenue of sphinxes, the towering pylons of Ramses II, the Roman additions hidden inside a pharaonic shell.
